What is Assembly?
The Commerce Society Assembly is the legislative body of ComSoc. Every Commerce student is free to attend and participate in Assembly. Each member has the right to move or second motions, speak for or against any motions, and in the event of the Annual General Meeting or a Special General Assembly, they may vote on motions specific to that Assembly.
The Speaker of the Assembly is responsible for facilitating and mediating discussion and debate, and works closely with the ComSoc executive to create biweekly Assembly agendas. Members of the Society that sit on Assembly include, the Commissioners, elected officials, and Officers. There are 11 voting members that sit on Assembly. These voting members are elected by the Commerce student body, with the exception of Year Presidents and the Upper and Lower AMS representatives, who are elected by those classes specific to their position.
