The Fund provides monetary support for students and student-run organizations to create initiatives that enhance the Commerce student experience.

Feminine Hygiene Product Dispenser
The Queen's Women in Leadership (QWIL) executive team used the Fund to assist with the installation of a feminine hygiene product dispenser in the Goodes Hall Atrium bathroom.

QBR Annual Print
The Fund supported the Queen’s Business Review (QBR) in providing funding for their annual print.

Goodes Breakout Room TVs
ComSoc installed TVs in all Goodes Hall breakout rooms for student and faculty use, supported by the Fund.

Any Commerce student, Committee, or Conference can apply for the Student Venture Fund.

Proposals can fall into two groups, Projects and Charity / Outreach.
Projects include (i) capital assets or (ii) experiences. Capital assets are assets with a useful life of at least three years. Experiences are proposals that enhance the life of students in the Commerce program that can be implemented within three months of approval. Both must be one-time expenses. Further, the project must be accessible to at least 25% of all Commerce students and the direct value of the project must be received by at least 2% of all Commerce students.
Charity / Outreach proposals may include (i) donations and (ii) volunteerism. Donations are monetary contributions made directly to a charitable organization based in the Kingston region. Volunteerism is an experience that involves allocating time towards a cause that improves the lives of others. The charity or organization involved in the proposal must be a registered charity or non-profit. -
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis throughout the Fall and Winter semesters. For applications prior to these periods, please contact the Student Venture Fund Director.

Fund requests under $100 are under the discretion of the Student Fund Director.
For fund requests between $100 and $750, the Student Fund Allocation Committee is responsible for voting on proposals.
For fund requests over $750, proposals are brought to the Assembly by the applicants and approved by voting members at the discretion of the Student Fund Director.
